Submit your site:
Google: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
Yahoo: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit
MSN: http://beta.search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx
… and wherever else you’d like (or use a service).
Place some ads on your site, you capitalistic pigs (you may have to alter your blog templates to include these):
Google: https://www.google.com/adsense/?hl=en_US&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-en_US-et-ads_C&medium=link
Yahoo: http://publisher.yahoo.com/sell/ContentMatch.php?loc=USYPN0043
MSN: eh… I’m sure they will have something… http://advertising.microsoft.com/home/home (Microsoft really wants to make sure that you’re home)
Then have people link to your blogs… the more links, the higher the relevancy (for Google, at least), the higher your site comes up in their search results.
